Exodus 40

      • God had commanded Moses at the beginning of the sanctuary service to anoint all the vessels.

Exodus 40:1 The LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Exodus 40:2 On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

Exodus 40:3 And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail.

Exodus 40:4 And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.

Exodus 40:5 And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle.

Exodus 40:6 And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

Exodus 40:7 And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein.

Exodus 40:8 And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.

Exodus 40:9 And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.

      • During the Day of Atonement, did Moses or Aaron need to anoint the tabernacle? No, because it had already been done!

Daniel 9

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

      • When was this prophecy fulfilled, before or after Christ started as the high priest?

Psalms 133

Psalms 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Psalms 133:2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

Psalms 133:3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

      • This was an Old Testament foretaste of what would happen during the time of Pentecost.

John 20

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

      • Christ had commanded her NOT to hold or detain Him.

Matthew 28

Matthew 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

      • Christ allowed them to hold or detain Him on the same day! What happened?

Acts 2

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Acts 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Acts 2:35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

      • Christ on this day did “sit on His throne.” (vs 30, 35)
      • Christ was “exalted.” (vs 33)
      • Christ “received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this.” (vs 33)
      • “God hath made Christ both Lord and Christ.” (vs 36)
      • This was all done on the day of Pentecost.

Revelation 5

Revelation 5:6 I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

      • Revelation explains Christ receiving the gift of God, the “seven Spirit of God” that were “sent forth into all the earth!”

Hebrews 1

Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

      • God the Father had pronounced His Son worthy to sit upon the throne, and He anointed His Son with oil, which is a reference to the priestly inauguration.

Hebrews 8

Hebrews 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

      • Before Christ could minister in the Heavens, did He need to anoint with oil all the vessels of the ministry like Moses?

Hebrews 9

      • Vs 3 in the following texts is the only one that has the use of the word “holy” twice, making it a specific reference to the “most holy.”

Hebrews 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

Hebrews 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.

Hebrews 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; [x2]

Hebrews 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Hebrews 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

      • Did Christ enter into both compartments at His ascension? YES! Why??? To anoint all the vessels as Moses, not to begin the Day of Atonement ministry which began in 1844… =)

Hebrews 10

Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Hebrews 13:11

Hebrews 13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

Hebrews 6

      • This text doesn’t have the same effect today with this understanding as it has had in the past when people thought Christ entered into the most holy place at His ascension for the purpose of entering into the ministry of the Day of atonement. One of the verses that has been used is:

Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.

      • Knowing that it was to anoint the most holy, we should be shocked that He in fact DID enter into the most holy place at His ascension! =)
