Third Person of the Godhead

PDF Notes

Who is this ‘third person’ we’ve heard so much about, and can we find that phrase in the Bible?

    • No, that phrase is not found in the Bible, but Ellen White uses it—so what does it mean?

The Bible does reveal that concept, but in other words. Jesus spoke in the ‘third person’ quite often. When He used the phrase, “son of man,” it was then that we can see an application to the concept. Notice, that in most of the 88 times the phrase “son of man” was employed by the prophets of […]

Angels in Acts of the Apostles

Remember, angel is only one of the ways used in the writings of EGW to refer to God’s agents. Go to the context of any section copied and pasted below to learn more.

He has sent forth His angels to minister to His church, and the gates of hell have not been able to prevail against His people. AA 11.2

Look upon the touching scene. Behold the Majesty of heaven surrounded by the Twelve whom He has chosen. He is about to set them apart for their work. By these feeble agencies, through His word and Spirit, He […]

Because of the Angels

Because of the Angels

Christ has a head – He is under the authority of His Father.

Man has a head – he is under the authority of Christ.

Woman has a head – she is under the authority of her husband.

Why?

Because of the angels.

Really?

Why???

Because the faithful angels didn’t know what had happened in the conflict over the begotten Son of God and the honored created son of God: Christ and Lucifer. They needed to understand what had happened and what the difference was between the God the Father and His Son, so God made Adam to represent Himself, while Eve, begotten from Adam’s own substance, represented the Son.

All of this, “because of the angels.”

Christ was God Essentially

Taken from the only time this quote was not included in a compilation:

“The world was made by him, “and without him was not anything made that was made.” If Christ made all things, he existed before all things. The words spoken in regard to this are so decisive that no one need be left in doubt. Christ was God essentially, and in the highest sense. He was with God from all eternity, God over all, blessed forevermore.” RH April 5, 1906, par. 6

Ephesians 3:9 and Hebrews 1:1-2 speak clearly that God the Father created all things through His Son. John 1:1–3 says that all things were created by Christ, without Him nothing was made.

Therefore, over all creation, Christ was God in essence, or essentially. As ruler of all because of creation, He was in the highest […]

Genesis in the New Testament

PDF Notes

The 74 references to Abraham in the New Testament alone! 80 references to Moses! 9 references to Adam, 27 references to Jacob, and 79 references to Israel!

If you claim Christianity, you might want to know that Christ quoted or referred to Genesis several times:

Matthew 11:23-24 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Matthew 11:24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

(See Genesis 18-19)

Matthew 19:3-6 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, […]

Answering Mr. O in Regard to Omnipresence

PDF Notes

Mr. O, I mentioned I would put a video together, but after starting to write out the notes, I found that writing would be a good way to go. I hope you don’t mind the change in what I said I would do. My comments are in bold:

Hello Pastor. I have some concerns regarding this video presentation and I am hoping you can help me understand. First of all, I agree with everything you have presented as far as the sources you have quoted. My concern is, I am afraid I am not understanding your interpretation of the material you have conveyed.

Thank you so much. If you could help, I would request that you go through the video again, pointing out precisely where I have misconstrued the words I […]

Principles of courtship from the Bible

Genesis 24:1 Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.

  • Abraham, an aged man that God had blessed in all things. Old and wise, mature, careful, instructed by the Lord, someone who it would be well for us to take counsel from.

Genesis 24:2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that […]

Proverbs 8:22-30

PDF Notes

This chapter starts out addressing “wisdom.” Notice how 1 Corinthians 1:24 and 30 address this issue saying that Christ is wisdom.

Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:24

Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom.” 1 Corinthians 1:30

Ellen White applies Proverbs 8:22-30 directly to Christ in Patriarchs and Prophets 34.1 by saying, “the Son of God declares concerning Himself…”

Proverbs 8:22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

Possessed:

My Testimony and How God Has Led Me – the Richard Story Testimony

PDF Version

My Testimony and How God Has Led Me.

By Richard Story

The purpose of this testimony is not intended to be an all-inclusive autobiography. I’m trying to tell how I kept Jesus out of my heart, and He finally got me to listen to Him.

I was born in a Naval hospital, in Atlanta, Georgia, during a snow storm which is highly unusual for Georgia, even if it was December 12, 1944. I was 22 inches long, and weighed 6 lbs 12 oz. My initial size belied the fact that throughout my life I’ve been average height and definitely […]

Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge (Gr: prognosis, 1 of 2 uses) of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Acts 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

  • How do we get the Spirit? John the Baptist said,

    Melchisedec

    PDF Notes

There are 11 uses in the KJV

Genesis 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

Notice, the Bible says he was the “king” and “the priest,” not the son of God, nor the spirit of God—and being a king and priest, he must have been a man. If, as the king of Salem (meaning peace), he brought “bread and wine” which were symbolic of the forthcoming life and death of the Son of God, could he not also be symbolic of that […]

    Christ’s Nature

    PDF Notes

According to Christ in Mark 8:38, He was born into an “adulterous and sinful generation.” Paul said He was in the “likeness of sinful flesh” (Romans 8:3). “Verily he took not on him the nature of angels [pure and holy]; but he took on him the seed [sperm/nature] of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. Justification

    PDF Notes:

We cannot be saved by our works, yet we cannot be saved without them. The reason? The judgment to come (consider Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, 2 Corinthians 5:10).

“There are conditions to our receiving justification and sanctification, and the righteousness of Christ. I know your meaning, but you leave a wrong impression upon many minds. While good works will not save even one soul, yet it is impossible for even one soul to be saved without good works. 1SM 377.1 (letter to AT Jones)
