Worshipping at Satan’s Throne
“Oh, how Satan works to plant his throne between the human worship and the Divine Being, intercepting and appropriating the adoration God should have. The Lord is mighty. The Lord works, and who can hinder Him? The adversary of God and man is ever at work to unite every human agency with him to see faults in their brethren and to cherish the spirit of criticism, educate themselves as accusers of the Lord’s delegated servants, and to question and make of none effect the message that they bear. Every plant which my heavenly Father hath not planted shall be rooted up.” {Ms59-1895.16}
Spiritual warfare
We are in spiritual war. It’s obvious every day. Here’s what Paul says to do twice in one chapter, saying that with this we’ll be able to stand in the evil day:
“Put on the whole armor of God…” Ephesians 6:11, 13.
- We need our loins girt about with truth – found in the Word: “Thy Word is truth…” (John 17:17)
- We need the breastplate of righteousness – found in the Word: “The word of Thy righteousness…” (Psalm 119:123)
- We need our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace – found in the Word: “Hear the word of the gospel…” (Acts 15:7)
- Above all, we need the shield of faith – found in the Word: “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…” (Romans 10:17)
- We need the helmet of salvation – found in the Word: “To you is the word of this salvation sent…” (Acts 13:26)
