God the Father “the highest.”

Psalms 18:13 [a prophecy of the cross] The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice;

Luke 1:32 [Jesus] shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest:

Mark 5:7 [a demon said] What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God?

“I saw that the wings of the angels did not reach above the Father, for that would bring Him too low. I saw that the Father was in the midst above the cherubims, and His glory is shed down upon the ark, and the train of His glory fills the temple.” 1LtMs, Ms 15, 1850, par. 11

Jesus the Son “the propitiation” or mercyseat

Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Angels in the sanctuary

They are interested in salvation, being on the mercy seat looking toward it (Exodus 25:18-22).

Exodus 25:20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.

They are embroidered on the veil (Exodus 26:31, 36:35, 2 Chronicles 3:14).

Exodus 26:31 Thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made.

They were etched upon the walls and doors of the sanctuary (1 Kings 6:28-35)—proving them an integral part of the sanctuary ministry.

1 Kings 6:32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

“The position of the cherubim, with their faces turned toward each other, and looking reverently downward toward the ark, represented the reverence with which the heavenly host regard the law of God and their interest in the plan of redemption.” CIHS 40.2

The Father is the Highest (Shekinah, from between the cherubims)

2 Kings 19:15 Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

The Son is the high priest (order of Melchisedec)

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

The angels are the priests (ministering spirits)

Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

What about Jacob’s vision of the ladder?

Genesis 28:11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

Genesis 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

Genesis 28:13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

Revelation 4, the Father is on the throne

Revelation 5, the lion and the lamb represents Christ

Revelation 5, the angels hold the incense, the 4 beasts and 24 elders praise God and His Son

In the holy city on the earth made new, Revelation 21:23 “The city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
